I took off my left shoe and tied small branches and straw against my leg. I lit several candles together and let the candlewax drip over the branches and my leg until a kind of shell was formed. Then I cut loose all the ropes and left the small stake behind.

 Murderess Toni Jo Henry born as Annie Beatrice McQuiston is executed by Old Sparky at the age of 26 in Lake Charles Parish jail, 5410 Broad Street, Lake Charles, Louisiana, United States.  During the time Henry was being tried Louisiana changed its method of execution from hanging to death by electrocution. Henry was executed within the basement of the Lake Charles Prison in Louisiana's portable electric chair which had been brought by truck from Angola the previous day. Henry was the only woman executed in Louisiana's electric chair. |
