During a series of lectures protesting the closing of the Antwerp Museum of Contemporary Art by the Flemish Minister of Culture, I lay outside in front of the door with a note that read 'Ignore the Artist'. Artists have not been consulted for decades in decisions regarding museums of contemporary art. In an ideal world fellow artists and art lovers would have dragged me inside to emphasise that artists do indeed belong in a Museum for Contemporary Art and not outside it, but nobody did so.

Pakistani-British businessman and drug trafficker Akmal Shaikh is executed by lethal injection at the age of 53 in Xishan Detention Centre, Ürümqi, Xinjiang Uyghur, China. On 12 September 2007 Shaikh was arrested at Ürümqi Airport carrying 4 kilograms (9 lb) of heroin of 84.2% purity hidden in a compartment of his case which was "practically empty" but for a few clothes.
