Karen Ann Quinlan aka The Coma Girl is born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, United States. Quinlan was born to a young unmarried woman of Irish American ancestry. A few weeks later she was adopted by devout Roman Catholics Joseph and Julia Quinlan.
