Singer-songwriter Jeanine Deckers aka Sœur Sourire aka The Singing Nun commits suicide by an overdose of barbiturates and alcohol at the age of 52 in Green Horizons Apartment #47 B, 144 Chaussee de Bruxelles, Wavre, Brabant-Wallon, Belgium. Deckers committed suicide together with her companion of ten years Annie Pécher due to a depression after being harrassed for years by the Belgian tax-services.
