162 Die in All Nippon Airways (ANA) Flight 58 Boeing 727-281 and Mitsubishi F-86F Sabre jet mid-air collision in Shimonagane, Shizukuishi, Iwate, Japan. Sabre jet pilot Technical Sergeant Yoshimi Ichikawa ejected before the collision and survived. Ichikawa was later tried and acquitted on a charge of involuntary manslaughter.
