Phoenix collapsed outside and convulsed for over five minutes. By the time paramedics had arrived on the scene Phoenix was turning dark blue in full cardiac arrest and in a flatline state. They administered medication in an attempt to restart his heart. He was rushed to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where further attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.

21-year-old performance artist Danny Devos aka DDV starts his performance 'Illegal' in ICC, Meir 50, Antwerpen, Antwerpen, Belgium. On 30 July 1980 I mailed out invitations to friends and acquaintances to search me in the International Cultural Centre. Then I went in hiding inside the building, without food, drink and with sleeping-tablets at hand. On 2 August 1980 I was found by Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven aka AMVK.
