Ceaușescu and his 70-year-old wife Elena had been sentenced to death by a People’s Court. The Ceaușescus were executed by a gathering of soldiers including Captain Ionel Boeru, Sergeant-Major Georghin Octavian and Dorin-Marian Cîrlan.
