The massacre began on 13 November at 7:30 p.m. when Gray confronted neighbour Garry Holden about one of Holden's dogs wandering onto his property. At around 5:50 p.m. on 14 November Gray ran out of the house, shooting from the hip and shouting "Kill me! Fucking kill me, you bastards!" He took several steps before being struck and knocked down by ATS gunfire. Gray was hit five times: in the eye, neck, chest and twice in the groin. Even with these injuries he struggled fiercely against police, breaking free of plastic handcuffs before being re-handcuffed, while berating police for not having killed him. Gray died from his wounds on the way to the hospital.

21-year-old performance artist Danny Devos aka DDV starts his performance '11 Days' in Prinsenhof 03, Gent, Oost-Vlaanderen, Belgium. For 11 days I lived on 250 grams of chips and 1 liter Coca-Cola a day. The next day I ate half a bread, 6 eggs, 6 slices of bacon and 250 grams of mushrooms.
