Cop killer Barry Peter Prudom born as Barry Edwards aka The Phantom in the Forest commits suicide by a shot in the head at the age of 38 in Malton Lawn Tennis Club, Malton, North Yorkshire, United Kingdom. Prudom was closed in by a firearms squad from Greater Manchester Police. There were a total of 21 penetrating shotgun wounds to Prudom's body which had 'insufficient velocity to enter the body cavity', a .22 bullet fired into the right side of his head which was consistent with a self-inflicted wound.
