On 17 May Mei was force-fed by an inmate who had no medical skills at all, the feeding tube was wrongly inserted causing serious injuries. After she returned to her cell she had a headache and started to vomit blood, lapsed into a coma and never regained consciousness again. Mei was the 19th Falun Gong member to die in police custody.

Musician Keith Charles Flint commits suicide at the age of 50 in Brook Hill, North End, Great Waltham, Essex, United Kingdom. Flint died by hanging and had unspecified amounts of cocaine, alcohol and codeine in his system.
