On 20 April 1934 John Dillinger's gang, consisting of Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson, Homer Van Meter, Tommy Carroll, and John "Red" Hamilton settled at Little Bohemia Lodge after Dillinger's escape from the jail in Crown Point, Indiana on 3 March 1934. They were tracked down by FBI agents Melvin Purvis, W. Carter Baum and Jay Newman among others.

80 Die in Swissair Flight SR306 Sud Aviation SE-210 Caravelle III crash in Dürrenäsch, Aargau, Switzerland. 43 people from Humlikon boarded the plane to visit a farm test site near Geneva.
