Pacific Southwest Airlines Flight 182 collided with a private Cessna 172 light aircraft flown by 32-year-old Martin B. Kazy Jr. and 35-year-old David Boswell. The site of the crash was immediately swarmed with looters who robbed the bodies of all their valuables.

Murderer Joseph Paul Jernigan is executed by lethal injection at the age of 39 in Huntsville Prison, 815 12th Street, Huntsville, Texas, United States. Jernigan's cadaver was sectioned and photographed for the Visible Human Project and the University of Colorado School of Medicine by Dr. Vic Spitzer and associates.
