17-year-old male prostitute Giuseppe Pelosi was arrested and confessed to murdering Pasolini. On 7 May 2005 he retracted his confession which he said was made under the threat of violence to his family. He claimed that three people "with a southern accent" had committed the murder, insulting Pasolini as a "dirty communist".

Darlene Elizabeth Ferrin is shot dead by unidentified serial killer the Zodiac Killer at the age of 22 in Blue Rock Springs Park parking lot, Vallejo, California, United States.

Ferrin's 19-year-old friend Michael Mageau survived four gun shots.
