Rogulskyj was found by a passerby at 2:20 am. She was rushed to the casuality department at Airedale hospital and then was transferred to Leeds General Infirmary where she survived a twelve-hour operation which included the removal of splinters of bone from her brain and a steel plate was fitted to her skull. At one point she was given last rites but she survived.

Denise Nelly Hotin is murdered by doctor and serial killer Marcel Petiot aka The Triangular Chamber of Death Murderer at the age of 27 in 21 Rue Le Sueur, XVIe, Paris, Île-de-France, France.

Hotin went to see Dr. Petiot to have an abortion.
