Gardner was immediately shot in the chest by guard Luther Hensley. After running to the courtroom archives, Gardner confronted attorneys Robert Macri and Michael Burdell and shot them both. Gardner made his way outside the building, where he was surrounded by dozens of police officers. Gardner threw the gun away, dropped and yelled: "Don’t shoot, I don’t have a gun."

21-year-old performance artist Danny Devos aka DDV performs 'Ladder - 1' in Koninklijke Akademie voor Schone Kunsten, Berouw, Gent, Oost-Vlaanderen, Belgium. In a cellar I placed my self-made ladders against the walls. I walked through the space blindfolded and my hands tied behind my back. Johan Desmet walked behind me to guide me but sometimes he kicked my foot and I fell down. Everybody left about right away.
