Amer was approached by high-ranking Egyptian officers and was given a choice to stand trial for treason, which would inevitably have ended with his conviction and execution, or die an honourable death by taking poison. Amer chose the latter option and received a full military burial.

Anna Bachmeier is raped and strangled by child rapist and murderer Klaus Grabowski at the age of 7 in Lübeck, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.

Anna's mother Marianne shot Grabowski dead in court during his trial on 6 March 1981.
