Irish republican hunger striker Bobby Robert Gerard Sands born as Roibeárd Gearóid Ó Seachnasaigh dies after 66 days of hungerstriking at the age of 27 in Maze Prison, Lisburn, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. Sands was the first to die in the 1981 Irish Hunger Strike.
