Bomb #6 mailed to Professor Patrick Fisher by 40-year-old mathematician and serial bomber Theodore Kaczynski aka The Unabomber explodes when opened, injuring Fischer’s secretary Janet Smith in Vanderbilt University Computer Science Department, Nashville, Tennessee, United States. The package was originally sent to Fischer at Pennsylvania State University but was later forwarded. The bomb consisted of smokeless powder and a large number of match heads. The package has a false return address, stating it came from LeRoy Bearnson, a professor of electrical engineering at Utah’s Brigham Young University. |
