Student and unofficial prostitute Olga Gaevskaya dies of AIDS at the age of 29 in Leningrad, Northwestern Federal District, Russia. Gaevskaya turned to doctors in 1985 and over the next 3 years she received inoperable diagnoses 26 times for various diseases. Gaevskaya was the first official victim of aids in the USSR and she died from pneumocystic pneumonia.
