Between 22 and 29 December, 27 bodies were recovered from Gacy's property, 26 of which were found buried in his crawl space, with one additional victim, John Butkovitch, being found buried beneath the concrete floor of his garage precisely where Gacy had marked the youth's grave with a can of spray paint.

41-year-old Flemish nationalist leader August Borms is sentenced to death for treason in Brussel, Brabant, Belgium. On 23 January 1920 Borms' death sentence was reduced to a life sentence of hard labour. Borms was released from prison on 17 January 1929.
