Attorney General of Germany Siegfried Buback is shot dead by the Rote Armee Fraktion, Kommando Ulrike Meinhof at the age of 57 in Linkenheimer Landstraße, Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. RAF members Christian Klar, Knut Folkerts, Günter Sonnenberg and Brigitte Mohnhaupt were formally charged and prosecuted in connection with the Buback murder.
