The garbage disposal could not break down Clarnell's tough vocal cords and ejected the tissue back into the sink. "That seemed appropriate," Kemper later said "as much as she'd bitched and screamed and yelled at me over so many years."

31-year-old surrealist writer Guillaume Apollinaire, originally Wilhelm Albert Włodzimierz Apolinary Kostrowicki is arrested and jailed on suspicion of aiding and abetting the theft of the Mona Lisa and a number of Egyptian statuettes from the Louvre in Paris, Île-de-France, France. Apollinaire was released a week later. The thefts were committed by Vincenzo Peruggia to whom Apollinaire gave shelter and Apollinaire voluntarily surrendered a number of stolen statuettes left behind by him.
