Black business owner Thomas Miles is lynched by hanging from a tree and his body filled with bullets at the age of 29 in Shreveport, Louisiana, United States. Miles had been tried in police court the day before on a charge of writing insulting notes to a white girl employed in a department store but was acquitted for lack of proof.
