During a stroll on the walkway Wobber took off his coat and vest, threw them to a passer-by and declared "This is where I get off. I'm going to jump." After his death newspapers reported Wobber was a victim of shell shock and had been under mental health treatment. It was the first suicide on the Golden Gate Bridge, just a little over three months past its opening.

		Mass murderer Ronald Gene Simmons 15 July 1940 (+) is born in Chicago, United States. 22 December 1987 (x) kills his 46-year-old wife Rebecca, his children, 29-year-old Gene, 17-year-old Loretta, 14-year-old Eddy, 11-year-old Marianne and 8-year-old Rebecca Becky, and his granddaughter (or daughter) 3-year-old Barbara by shooting, strangling and drowning in Dover, United States. 26 December 1987 (x) kills his 23-year-old son William Billy and 22-year-old daughter-in-law Renata, their one-year-old son William Trae, his 24-year-old daughter Sheila and her 23-year-old husband Dennis McNulty, his incestuous 6-year-old daughter Sylvia Gail and 20-month-ol grandson Michael by gunfire and strangulation in Dover, United States. 28 December 1987 (x) drives into town and shoots several people in different offices before surrendering without resistance to the police in Russelville, United States. 25 June 1990 (-) is executed by lethal injection in Varner, United States.
