Marchwicki's trial received great interest; entrance to the room was only allowed by a special entrance ticket. On 28 July 1975 the Katowice Voivodship Court found Marchwicki guilty of the murder of fourteen women and attempted murder of another six, condemning him to death. (18 September 1974)

Friday 4th of August 1944 (x) — The Achterhuis where Diarist Anne Frank was hiding is stormed by a group of German uniformed police led by SS-OberscharführerKarl Silberbauer of the Sicherheitsdienst. On 3 September the Frank family was deported on what would be the last transport from Westerbork transit camp to Auschwitz KZ.
