Saturday 20th of April 1991 (-) — Musician Steve Marriott dies in a fire due to smoking in bed while falling asleep at his 16th century thatched cottage. At the inquest a verdict of accidental death by smoke inhalation was recorded. Marriott's blood was found to contain quantities of Valium, alcohol and cocaine.
