Friday 22nd of April 1983 (-) — Robber, kidnapper and murderer John Louis Evans is executed by Yellow Mama
After the first jolt of electricity, sparks and flames erupted from the electrode attached to Evans' leg. The electrode then burst from the strap holding it in place and caught on fire. Smoke and sparks came out from under the hood. Two physicians entered the chamber and found a heartbeat. The electrode was reattached to his leg. More smoke and burning flesh. Again doctors found a heartbeat. Ignoring the pleas of Evans' lawyer Russ Canan, a third jolt was applied. The execution took 14 minutes and left Evans' body charred and smoldering.
Friday 14th of July 1989 (-) — Murderer Horace Dunkins is executed by Yellow Mama
The first blow just rendered Dunkins unconscious, the second one was administered only 9 minutes later due to a lack of power. Dunkins was pronounced dead 19 minutes after the first jolt.

When he was strapped into the electric chair Waldrop sang 'Amazing Grace' and waved to a minister friend in the witness chamber.
Friday 6th of June 1997 (-) — Ku-Klux-Klan member and murderer Henry Hays is executed by Old Sparky
Hays is the only known Ku-Klux-Klan member to have been executed in the 20th century for the murder of an African American.
Friday 10th of May 2002 (-) — Cop killer Lynda Block is executed by Yellow Mama
Block was the first woman executed in the state of Alabama since 1957. Block had no last meal request nor did she make a final statement.
Thursday 24th of April 2003 (-) — Murderer Gary Brown is executed by lethal injection
Brown requested no last meal, eating only an ice cream sandwich from a vending machine.
Thursday 3rd of May 2007 (-) — Double murderer Aaron Jones is executed by lethal injection
Jones' final meal request was for black-eyed peas, pepper steak and an orange-flavored drink. Earlier in the day he had a cheeseburger and a Pepsi from a prison vending machine.
Thursday 5th of March 2020 (-) — Alleged cop killer Nathaniel Woods is executed by lethal injection
On 17 June 2004 Woods had surrendered to police inside a crack house when 24-year-old Kerry Spencer came downstairs and opened fire, killing three officers. Spencer and Woods were both charged with the murders despite Woods never firing a weapon. Spencer was also sentenced to death and remains on death row at Holman Correctional Facility awaiting execution.

Barber's final meal request was for a western omelet, loaded hash browns, spicy sausage and toast and other breakfast fixings.
Thursday 25th of January 2024 (-) — Murderer Kenneth Eugene Smith is executed by nitrogen hypoxia
Smith's final meal request was for steak and eggs with hash browns. The execution took about 22 minutes. Smith appeared to remain conscious for several of those minutes, at times appearing to shake and writhe on the gurney and pull against his restraints. This was followed by several minutes of heavy breathing, until his breathing was no longer perceptible.

Miller's last meal request was for a hamburger steak, a baked potato and french fries. Miller’s final words were “I didn’t do anything to be in here” and “I didn’t do anything to be on death row”.
