Neilson then drove Whittle to Bathpool Park in Kidsgrove, Staffordshire. There he forced her down into the drainage shaft of the nearby reservoir. Inside the shaft he placed a hood over her head, removed the dressing gown leaving her naked and then tethered her to the side of the shaft by a wire noose. There was a mattress and a sleeping bag. On 6 March 1975 police found Whittle's body hanging from a steel wire only 180mm from the bottom of the 6m deep shaft. (13 January 1975)

Thursday 30th of November 1989 (-) — Vorstandssprecher der Deutschen Bank Alfred Herrhausen is killed by a sophisticated roadside bomb placed by the Rote Armee Fraktion. The 7 kg bomb was hidden in a bag on a bicycle parked next to the road that the assassins knew Herrhausen would be traveling in his three-car convoy. The bomb was detonated when Herrhausen's car interrupted a beam of infrared light as it passed the bicycle. The bomb targeted the most vulnerable area of Herrhausen's car – the door where he was sitting – and required split-second timing to overcome the car's special armour plating.
