Greenwood was convicted of nine counts of murder. Greenwood's victims had their throats cut from ear to ear. There was evidence that the killer drank the blood of the victims. Greenwood left cups of blood and rings of salt around the corpses. The judge recommended that Greenwood never be released because "His presence in any community would constitute a menace." Sunday 21st of August 1921 (-) — Victim of Karl Großmann aka Die Bestie vom Schlesischen Bahnhof Marie Nitsche is sexually assaulted and strangled by Karl Großmann aka Die Bestie vom Schlesischen Bahnhof. Nitsche's cries alerted neighbours who called in the police. Upon his arrest by Oberwachtmeisters Richard Klähn and Ernst Engesser, Großmann was found naked and covered in Nitsche's blood, ready to drink a cup of cyanide laced coffee.
Saturday 13th of August 1921 (-) — Victim of Karl Großmann aka Die Bestie vom Schlesischen Bahnhof Johanna Sosnowski is sexually assaulted and beaten to death by Karl Großmann aka Die Bestie vom Schlesischen Bahnhof. Sosnowski was cut to pieces and some of her meat was either eaten or sold by Großmann near Schlesischen Bahnhof.
