Perez' final meal request was for five pieces of fried chicken, one double meat hamburger with cheese and onion, onion rings, three cheese and onion enchiladas, one onion, french fries, hot sauce, pico de gallo, jalapeno peppers and two cokes. His last words were "I am ready Warden. I got my boots on, like a cowboy."

Friday 11th of August 1978 (x) — Medical photographer Janet Parker is accidently infected by a mislaid sample of the smallpox virus.
Parker was placed in quarantaine in the Catherine-de-Barnes Isolation Hospital near Solihull on 20 August and died there on 11 September. Many people had close contact with Parker before she was admitted to hospital, 260 people were being immediately quarantined. Parker became the last person to die of smallpox.
