Privacky and two other inmates overpowered the driver of a facilities semi-truck and tried to drive it through the double fence. Guards from the prison quickly apprehended two of the inmates but Privacky tried to flee the truck once it stopped and was shot.

The day before Boden raped and strangled 33-year-old high school teacher Elizabeth Anne Porteous in her apartment. Her breasts were mutilated with bite marks and amid the wreckage the police discovered Boden's broken cufflink under her body.

Porteous' breasts were mutilated with bite marks. A local orthodontist managed to demonstrate 29 points of similarity between the bite marks in Porteous' body and Boden's teeth.

Ng was arrested by the Calgary Police Service after shooting security guard Sean Doyle in the hand while resisting arrest for stealing a can of salmon from a Calgary department store.
