Pearl Harbour was attacked by 353 Japanese fighters, bombers and torpedo planes in two waves, launched from six aircraft carriers. There were simultaneous Japanese attacks on the U.S.-held Philippines and on the British Empire in Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong.Four battleships and two other ships sunk, three battleships, three cruisers, three destroyers and three other ships were damaged, 188 aircraft were destroyed and 159 damaged, 2402 were killed and 1247 wounded. The Japanese had four midget submarines sunk and one grounded, 29 aircraft destroyed, 64 killed and one captured. (7 December 1941)
