Calder's actual birthday remains a source of much confusion. According to Calder's mother he was born on 22 August yet his birth certificate at Philadelphia City Hall stated 22 July. When Calder's family learned about the birth certificate they reasserted with certainty that city officials had made a mistake.

Friday 18th of May 1945 (x) — Serial killer Harvey Glatman is caught in the act of breaking into the apartment of Elma Hamum.
A length of rope and a .25-caliber pistol were found in Glatman's possession. Glatman was charged with first-degree robbery and his parents posted bail.
