Special Agent Ingle was working with a private detective to move a package of evidence that possibly related to a federal crime. The private detective had a pistol in his pocket but the pocket apparently had a hole in it and the pistol fell to the ground, firing and fatally striking Ingle. Ingle was the first Special Agent of the FBI to die in the line of duty but in a non-combat situation.

Friday 24th of January 1992 (-) — Cop killer Ricky Ray Rector is executed by lethal injection.
It took medical staff more than 50 minutes to find a suitable vein in Rector's arm. Witnesses were not permitted to view this scene but reported hearing Rector's loud moans throughout the process. During the ordeal Rector (who suffered serious brain damage from a lobotomy) tried to help the medical personal find a vein.
Thursday 31st of August 1995 (-) — Kidnapper, rapist and murderer Barry Lee Fairchild is executed by lethal injection.
