Thursday 15th of July 1971 (-) — Member of the Rote Armee Fraktion Petra Schelm is shot dead by the police after escaping from a road-block. Schelm's companion Werner Hoppe was arrested minutes later. Schelm was the first member of the Rote Armee Fraktion to be killed by the German police.
