Jeffers had a last meal request for 3 pounds of prime rib, cooked medium rare; a pound of king crab legs; and three lobster tails complete with drawn butter, but prison officials called the request unreasonable due to issues of quantity and availability. Instead he got a 10 ounce steak, peas, rolls with butter, one baked potato with shredded Cheddar cheese, strawberry pie with whipped cream and a large chocolate malt. Before his execution Jeffers let loose a string of obscenities and gave his executioners the finger. (13 September 1995)
