The jury quickly found Charteris guilty. On 2 March, he was sentenced to death and held in Newgate Prison. On 10 April 1730 after a substantial campaign to pardon Charteris, joined by Anne Bond, King George II granted him a royal pardon. (27 February 1730)

Saturday 8th of February 1902 (-) — Founder of the Protestant Truth Society John Kensit dies of pneumonia and blood poisoning. Kensit died due to the result of a wound he received in September that year when he was struck by a chisel thrown by a protester as he arrived at a meeting in Birkenhead.
