Maigys went into the Hermitage and headed to the Rembrandt’s painting hall, where he asked the keeper which of Rembrandt’s paintings was considered the most valuable — she replied that it was Danae, which was not for sale at all. Then Maygis went to Danae, pulled out a knife and a can of sulfuric acid from his jacket and stabbed the picture several times with a knife, falling into the thigh and abdomen of Danae.
