Friday 5th of September 1997 (x) — Murderer Wilford Berry is assaulted during a riot because his fellow death row inmates felt that his 'volunteer status' would negatively affect their efforts to delay their own executions
Berry's jaw and facial bones were badly broken during the assault and required surgery and metal implants to repair the damage. Berry's right hand was also heavily damaged because he used it in an attempt to protect the back of his head from blows inflicted by a heavy padlock swung on a chain. Berry also suffered several broken ribs, bruised internal organs, and required staples in his head.

Berry was the first convict to waive his right to appeal his death sentence after Ohio reinstated the death penalty. Berry became the first person to be executed in Ohio since 1963.

Coleman was the only condemned person in the United States to have death sentences in three states. Coleman's last meal request was for a well-done filet mignon smothered with mushrooms, fried chicken breasts, a salad with French dressing, sweet potato pie topped with whipped cream, French fries, collard greens, onion rings, cornbread, broccoli with melted cheese, biscuits and gravy, and Cherry Coke. So many victims and survivors of Coleman's crimes were allowed to witness the execution that prison officials had to set up a closed-circuit viewing venue outside of the building.
Tuesday 24th of September 2002 (-) — Multiple child murderer Robert Anthony Buell is executed by lethal injection
Buell's final meal request was for a single black unpitted olive. Buell was paying homage to to Victor Feguer, the last prisoner executed by the federal government until Timothy McVeigh. Feguer was hanged in 1963. His last meal was an olive with the pit still in it. Feguer told prison officials that he hoped an olive tree would sprout from his body – a sign of peace.

His final meal request was of steak, asparagus, Brussels sprouts, feta cheese, a soft drink, cake and watermelon. Newton weighed 265 pounds and his veins were very difficult to locate. It took over two hours and 10 attempts before the execution was completed. It took so long that Newton was given a bathroom break.
Thursday 16th of January 2014 (-) — Murderer Dennis McGuire is executed by lethal injection
McGuire made several loud snorting or snoring sounds while straining to catch his breath as he experienced a medical phenomenon known as air hunger. Ohio officials used intravenous doses of two drugs, the sedative midazolam and the painkiller hydromorphone.
