Marchwicki's trial received great interest; entrance to the room was only allowed by a special entrance ticket. On 28 July 1975 the Katowice Voivodship Court found Marchwicki guilty of the murder of fourteen women and attempted murder of another six, condemning him to death.

Arregui died after nine days of interrogation. The cause of death was diagnosed as bronchial pneumonia while Arregui's body was covered with bruises and there were first and second degree burns on the soles of both feet.
