Long was discovered at 8:30 in the morning when two women walking near the waste ground heard her feeble cries, which they first thought sounded like a baby whimpering. Her girdle, pants and tights had been pulled down. She had suffered one blow to the back of the head and stab wounds to her chest, stomach, and back, including one slashing stab wound from her breasts to below her navel.

Tuesday 9th of October 1934 (-) — Anarchist and assassin Vlado Chernozemski is struck by a slash from a cavalryman's sabre, shot in the head from a nearby police officer and savagely beaten by the enraged crowd after shooting Alexander I of Yugoslavia to death
The driver and Alexander's companion in the car, French Foreign Minister Louis Barthou, were also fatally hit by a stray bullet fired by French police during the scuffle following the attack. For murdering King Alexander I, Chernozemski was posthumously declared the most dangerous terrorist in Europe.
