The SS Mont-Blanc was a French cargo ship fully loaded with wartime explosives that collided with the Norwegian vessel SS Imo. Approximately twenty minutes later, a fire on board the SS Mont-Blanc ignited her explosive cargo, causing a cataclysmic explosion that devastated the Richmond District. (6 December 1917)

Wednesday 24th of November 1971 (x) — Hijacker D.B. Cooper jumps from the back of a Northwest Orient Airlines Flight 305 Boeing 727-051 after securing 200.000 $ ransom and four parachutes. Despite an extensive manhunt and protracted FBI investigation D.B. Cooper has never been located or identified. The case remains the only unsolved air piracy in commercial aviation history.
