Warhol had been making good recovery from a routine gallbladder surgery before dying in his sleep. Warhol's family sued the hospital for inadequate care, saying that the arrhythmia was caused by improper care and water intoxication. The malpractice case was quickly settled out of court and Warhol's family received an undisclosed sum of money.

Thursday 8th of November 1923 (x) — Reichsmarschall and Nazi leader Hermann Göring is shot in the hip by the Bayrische Landespolizei while parading with Adolf Hitler.
Göring was smuggled to Innsbruck where he received surgery and was given morphine for the pain. He remained in hospital until 24 December. This was the beginning of his morphine addiction which lasted until his imprisonment at Nuremberg
