The robbers stayed at his residence for several hours and tortured Tosh in an attempt to extort money from him. Over the hours as various associates of Tosh arrived to visit him they were also taken hostage by the gunmen. Tosh said he did not have any money in the house after which Dennis 'Leppo' Lobban and the fellow gunmen began opening fire in a reckless manner. Tosh was shot twice in the head and killed. HerbalistWilton 'Doc' Brown and disc jockey Jeff 'Free I' Dixon also died. Several others in the house were wounded, including Tosh's common law wife Andrea Marlene Brown, Free I's wife Yvonne, Tosh's drummer Carlton 'Santa' Davis and musician Michael Robinson. Wednesday 31st of October 1984 (-) — First female Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi shot dead by her Sikh body-guards Beant Singh and Satwant Singh in the aftermath of Operation Blue Star, the Indian Army's June 1984 assault on the Golden Temple in Amritsar which left the Sikh temple heavily damaged. Beant fired three rounds into her abdomen from his .38 revolver and then Satwant fired 30 rounds from his Sten submachine gun after she had fallen to the ground. Both men then threw down their weapons and Beant said "I have done what I had to do. You do what you want to do."
