Problems began when a fire started in a rear lavatory. Prior to the forced landing many of the passengers had already died of carbon monoxide poisoning and smoke inhalation. A possible cause of the fire was that the lavatory waste bin contents caught fire after a lit cigarette was thrown into it. There were 11 survivors. (11 July 1973)

Saturday 13th of May 1972 (x) — . Most of the dead were found in the Playtown Cabaret on the 6th floor. 93 suffered carbon dioxide poisoning, three died from compression injuries in the chest and abdomen (meaning that they were probably trampled to death) and 22 died from jumping.
