On the location where the so-called ‘Strangler of the Left Bank’ committed a murder, I was hanging upside down between four trees. To my arms and legs I tied small hatchets and I pulled a plastic bag over my head. I hung there as long as I could. The performance was inspired by an ever recurring nightmare by the ‘Strangler’, with whom I kept an intense correspondence for several years. (29 March 1994)
