Saturday 27th of January 1596 (-) — Sea Captain, slaver and pirate Sir Francis Drake dies of dysentery. Before dying, Drake asked to be dressed in his full armour. He was buried at sea in a lead coffin, near Portobelo. Divers continue to search for the coffin.
