Leno was stabbed 26 times and the word "WAR" was carved into his abdomen. His 38-year-old wife Rosemary LaBianca was stabbed 41 times. The perpetrators were Charles Manson, Tex Watson, Leslie Van Houten and Patricia Krenwinkel. Krenwinkel wrote "Rise" and "Death to pigs" on the walls and "Healter Skelter" on the refrigerator door.
