Monday 31st of August 1981 (x) — Car bomb attack by die Rote Armee Fraktion commando 'Sigurd Debus'.
Sigurd Debus was a Rote Armee Fraktion member who died hungerstriking in Hamburg on 16 April. 20 people got injured.
Sunday 28th of August 1988 (x) — during the Flugtag'88 airshow.
The mid-air collision took place as the two heart-forming groups passed each other and the heart-piercing aircraft hit them. 346 spectators sustained serious injuries in the resulting explosion and fire and hundreds more had minor injuries. The German band Rammstein was named after this catastrophe. The second "M" was added so the name means "Ramming Stone."
