Friday 5th of September 1975 (x) — 38th President of the United States Gerald Ford is attacked by Lynette Fromme aka Squeaky.
Fromme stood a little more than an arm's length from Ford and pointed a M1911 pistol at him. Her gun failed to fire and no one was injured. Fromme spent 34 years in prison for her assassination attempt and was released on 14 August 2009 – two years and eight months after Ford's death.
