Among the audience of Landru's trial were actors Mistinguette and Maurice Chevalier, writer Colette and a huge number of women from the bourgeoisie. Special trains known as the 'Landru Spécial' were run from Paris Invalides station to arrive in Versailles in time for the hearings.
